Scarlet & Gray Midwest Showdown Jan 9 – Jan 10 · Ohio Expo Center & State Fair

Schedule
**Saturday: Heifers (2 rings) and showmanship (1) will follow the heifer show.  Market animals (2 rings) will show Sunday**

Friday, January 8
8:00 a.m. – Cattle may arrive. The show office will be staffed starting at 10 AM.
*Online sign-up and entries can be made in the show office, starting at 4 pm
5:00 – 8:00 p.m. – Check-In – All Heifers must be checked in by 8 p.m.

Saturday, January 9
7:00 a.m. – Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) session
6:00 – 7:00 a.m. – Check-In held in Gilligan
9:00 a.m. – Heifer Show Ring A Begins
9:30 a.m. – Heifer Show Ring B Begins
TBA – Showmanship will begin after the completion of the Ring B Heifer Show and photos are complete (2 rings will be used) Beginner & Intermediate will show in Ring A, Junior and Novice will show in Ring B and Senior showmanship will use whichever ring finishes first.
4:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Steer / Market Heifer Check-In
*Online sign-up and entries can be made in the show office during check-in

Sunday, January 10
8:00 a.m. – Steer & Market Heifer Show Ring A Begins
8:30 a.m. – Steer Show Ring B Begins

Judges
Lee Rincker, CA & Drew Perez, NM

Premiums
Heifer and Steer Premiums – Both Rings
Champion $1,000, Reserve $500, 3rd, 4th & 5th Overall decided based on numbers.
Class payouts determined based on entries

Other Information

  • Entry fees $55 for one ring, $100 for both rings. Bedding is provided with entry fee in Gilligan ONLY.  Mulch is $30 per scoop under the viaduct.
    • There is a $5 discount for cattle nominated in the BEST Program.
  • Exhibitors may stall in the south Gilligan Complex or in the tie out area. Mulch bedding will be provided in Gilligan only. Please check in at show office before stalling in Gilligan.
  • Steer and market heifers born on or after 1/1/15
  • Breed heifers born on or after 9/1/14
  • Steers and crossbred heifers shown by shoulder height
  • Breed heifers shown by age. Registration papers required for all breed cattle.
  • All cattle must have legible tattoos the first time through the chute. If the tattoos are not legible then the animal will be placed in the crossbred division
  • Health papers required for all out-of-state cattle.
  • Show is open to the world
