Comments: The 415 donor holds a special place in my heart. She was my favorite heifer of 2014 and is part of one of my key cow families. She was on our trailer that we wrecked that fall and got tore up pretty bad, and there were a few times I wondered if we would ever get any calves out of her. We decided to flush her has a virgin, which brings us to what you see here. Tag 55 has been a standout since birth. Huge pipes, big feet, and big backed and stout from behind. I believe the popular term for cattle like this one is “burly”. On top of that, I love his neck attachment and presence not too mention he has the big, long hairs.

Comments: By now we all know the predictability of the Monopoly x Who Da Man mating. It simply works. To me, tag 98 is a tweener. Some might call her a market heifer because of her power, but some might call her a breeding heifer for her maternal rib cage, flat shoulder and feminine look up front. I believe her management will dictate which division she falls into.

Comments: Last year, this steer’s brother got overlooked by many because he was in the same pen as our high seller. The Slate family didn’t miss him, scooped him up at good value and had a great run, being named the Reserve Grand Steer at the 2015 Holiday classic and Reserve Grand Steer at the 2016 Western Bonanza. Compared to his brother, tag 66 is smoother shouldered, longer necked while still maintining the same level of power and bone. Like our other older calves, he is bigger and a bit greener, but there is no doubt that this calf works well for an early state fair.
